Congers, New York
THE SNEDEKER FARM
The Dutch Colonial house was built in 1740 by the Snedeker family and is historically recognized as the Snedeker Farm.
THE CASE
The investigation was part of our Rockland County, New York documentary, which benefited the Rivertown Film Society. We were accompanied by a film crew headed by Dan Guindon and Mike Lavoie. The goal was to document a series of true paranormal investigations while eschewing any hyperbole.
The evening was, in sum total, unexpectedly remarkable.
Claims included objects going missing or being manipulated, strange unexplained sounds and reports of a “hitchhiker ghost” submitted by a local medium who had previously visited at the owner’s request. The master bedroom was also the scene of odd reports, primarily a distinct knocking often heard late at night. There were no shutters or tree limbs that could explain it.
More disturbing was the reported sighting of a woman dressed in green who appeared in various areas, particularly the third floor.
Perhaps the most intriguing part of this property was that the owners were professionals without a deep-rooted interest in the paranormal, adding to the credibility of their claims.
